Canterbury Park is one place where you’ll find a myriad of group activities in Minneapolis. On a typical summer day, head to the racetrack and watch horse racing at its finest or visit during one of their exciting events throughout the year. On June 30, you don’t want to miss the popular Corgi Dog Races and Cupcake Festival. Between the horse races, Corgis will hit the track to determine which dog is the fastest. Plus, you can indulge in some of the best cookie and cupcake vendors in the area as well.

On July 3, enjoy horse racing and the Fireworks Spectacular, a beautiful firework display immediately following the last horse race of the night. You’ll also want to mark your calendars for July 14, where it won’t be just horses racing for the title, but zebras, ostriches, and camels as well during Extreme Race Day. Plus, if you are 21 years or older, BeerFest is where you’ll want to be on July 21. There will be hundreds of craft beers to sample and live horse racing beginning at 12:45 p.m.

3. Take a Step Back in Time

If you want to experience a time many, many years ago, plus some delicious food and drinks, the Minnesota Renaissance Festival should be at the top of your list of events and festivals in Shakopee that you don’t want to miss.
