Shakopee’s Beer Scene

Shakopee’s beer scene is hopping!  Here’s where to find a well-crafted pint, from taprooms to bars and restaurants with stellar beer programs.

Taprooms

Badger Hill Brewing

Located near Canterbury Park, Badger Hill Brewing has a wide-ranging tap list with light drinking, hazy, sour, hop-forward, and malt-forward options. The best-selling Traitor IPA balances citrus, resin, and pine notes with a dry finish.  Other flagship brews include Traitor Hazy, Badger Snack Peanut Butter Stout, and Mucho Gusto Mexican-style Lager.  Badger Hill Brewing also crafts non-alcoholic, draft versions of two of their flagship brews, Badger Snack and Longhorn. The taproom frequently hosts live music, and there’s a takeout window for ordering from the adjacent Bravi’s Craft Mexican Kitchen.

Mana Brewing

Downtown Shakopee’s Mana Brewing offers about a dozen taps, with a focus on IPAs and easily-drinking European styles.  In the mood for something sweet?  Try Fossil Fuel, a pastry stout created in collaboration with T-Rex Cookies featuring sea salt, caramel, and chocolate chip flavors.  In addition to beer, the taproom also serves Neapolitan-style, stone-fired pizza and snacks.  Mana Brewing is a family-friendly environment, with arcade games and kid-sized pizzas.

Shakopee Brewhall

At their inviting, vintage-inspired taproom in Downtown Shakopee, Shakopee Brewhall puts a creative spin on their approachable beers, like the award-winning Cinco de Shako Mexican light lager.  Choose from IPAs, lagers, and darker beers, plus nitro taps and small-batch infusions that lean into bold flavors like fruit or chocolate.  The community-focused taproom regularly hosts charity bingo, trivia, and other special events.

Bars & Restaurants

Hop House at Mystic Lake

With over 20 beers on tap and wall-to-wall screens, the Hop House at Mystic Lake is the dream sports bar experience for beer enthusiasts.  There are weekday happy hour discounts on draft brews and flights, and the food menu includes beer-friendly pairings like wings, housemade pretzels sticks, and beer-battered cheese curds.  There’s live music on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as a mezzanine seating area with great views.

McCoy’s Copper Pint

With two for one tap beers all day, every day, McCoy’s Copper Pint is a fun destination for beer lovers.  The regular tap list includes Minnesota-brewed options from Badger Hill, Shakopee Brewhall, Surly, Summit, Steel Toe, and Castle Danger, with fifteen additional rotating taps that often highlight local craft breweries.  The wide-ranging food menu features appetizers like wings and nachos, as well as wood stone pizzas, burgers, and entrees.

Turtle’s Bar & Grill

A downtown Shakopee staple for over 30 years, Turtle’s Bar & Grill is a neighborhood spot with two dozen rotating beers on tap, mostly from regional craft breweries.  Styles are wide-ranging, with a nice balance of hop-forward, sours, stouts, and easy-drinking options—sample the list with a flight of four 5-ounce pours.  On Mondays, enjoy $5 Minnesota-brewed pints.  The scratch food menu features Angus burgers, housemade thin crust pizza, giant pretzels, and other comforting fare.
