2025 Summer Food & Drink Festivals
Summertime is food and drink festival season in Shakopee! Get ready for events dedicated to barbecue, corn, and juicy lucy burgers, as well as beer, wine, and spirits.
Canterbury Park
Enjoy an evening at the races with delicious food and drink! These food festivals at Canterbury Park include live racing admission, with the first race starting around 5:00pm.
July 12, 2025
Sample your way through a variety of wings and Jim Beam bourbon whiskey. Tickets include two bourbon-based cocktails, cocktail samples, and food stations throughout the evening.
August 9, 2025
Spend the evening cheering on the horses and trying local beers. Tickets include samples of over 100 different brews from Twin Cities breweries, plus a souvenir sampling cup.
August 16, 2025
Spice up your summer with tacos and then cool down with Don Julio tequila. Tickets include two tequila-based cocktails, cocktail samples, and food stations featuring tacos, elote salad, and tres leches cake.
August 23, 2025
Tour the world through wine. Tickets include samples of over 20 different wines from Kim Crawford, Meiomi Wines, Woodbridge, The Prisoner Wine Co., Ruffino, and Saldo, plus a souvenir wine glass.
Valleyfair
Head to Valleyfair for thrilling coasters, Soak City Waterpark, and some of the summer’s tastiest eats. Food festivals are included with park admission.
July 12-13 and July 19-20, 2025
Celebrate Minnesota’s iconic cheese-stuffed burger with a lineup of creative juicy lucy burgers, plus local beers, ciders, and cocktails. The festival will also include performances by local bands.
Weekends August 16-September 1, 2025
Feast on a cornucopia of sweet and savory corny treats. There will also be a corn eating contest, games, and local music.
Mystic Lake
July 24-26, 2025
Chow down on barbecue at the Mystic Lake Amphitheater. Top pitmasters from around the country, including Aussom Aussie, Austin’s Texas Lightning, Just North of Memphis Barbecue, and Chicago BBQ, will compete for cash prizes. You’ll even get a chance to vote for your favorite ribs. Pair your barbecue with treats from Ben & Jerry’s, Original Hockey Mom Brownies, and Kernel’s Sweet Corn.
Don’t miss the Rib Eating Championship on Saturday, July 26, with competitive eaters vying to break the world record of 13.76 pounds in 12 minutes. Each day will also feature free concerts by chart-topping acts including Sawyer Brown (July 24), Blues Traveler (July 25), and Hanson (July 26). Admission to the Great Midwest Rib Fest is free of charge.
