  1. Food Trucks and Breweries

While Badger Hill Brewery doesn’t serve their own food, they do have an amazing lineup of food trucks parked outside daily to serve you eats while you sip your brew. Funfare Global Street Eats cooks up flaky beignets and egg rolls, loaded dogs and Cuban sandwiches. The Purple People Feeder serves up pulled pork sandwiches, char-wings, grilled cheeses, barbecued ribs, and hot chili. June 10th marks the kickoff of the Belmont Stakes Block Party! Stop by for live music, face painting, contests, and most importantly, food trucks and tons more.   1. Fair Food

You can’t visit Shakopee without visiting Valleyfair, the upper midwest’s largest amusement park. The thrills are endless and the food is spectacular too! A trip to Valleyfair isn’t complete unless you’ve had Chickie’s & Pete’s legendary Crabfries. For lunch, a 50’s style meal at Coaster’s Diner is a great pitstop before heading to the Xtreme Swing. If you’re feeling like a fiesta, stop by Sidewinder Burrito for something tasty. Just don’t eat too much!

Earlier, we mentioned the Belmont Stakes, a race where horses at the top of their sport compete against each other for the prize. If that’s not exactly your speed, consider Corgi racing. On July 29th the 2nd annual Corgi Races and Cupcake Festival will be taking place at Canterbury Park! There will be cupcakes and corgis as far as the eye can see.

The Beer and Bacon Festival will also be hosted at Canterbury Park this year on August 5th. Munch on your favorite breakfast bites while sipping ice cold brews.

With summer on the way, it’s hard to think of anything other than juicy barbecue and frosty margaritas. As luck would have it, the Great Midwest Ribfest is back with three full days of that and more. Which BBQ masters will take the crown this year? You decide! Aussum Aussie, Chicago BBQ, Just North of Memphis BBQ, and so many more will be there cooking up their best to fight for your vote.

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival spans from August 19th until October 1st, so you have plenty of time to visit and catch all the excitement. The food, while not always very Renaissance, is delectable! From Bloody Mary bars to fried chicken dumplings to craft cocktails to maple bacon funnel cake, you’re bound to find something amazing at the Renaissance Festival.

  1. Brunch & Breakfast

For those late risers who can’t bring themselves to slide out of bed until noon, don’t worry! Wampach’s Restaurant will still have breakfast ready for you. All-day breakfast is a fixture here.

If you have a lucky streak, we guarantee you’ll find yourself at Mystic Lake Casino before your trip is complete. For some gambling fuel, be sure to stop by the buffet for everything from global delicacies to American favorites. On Sundays, they offer a champagne brunch that provides the perfect way to unwind after a long week.

O’Brien’s Public House has a delectable selection of tavern food to munch on, but the best of all is the brunch menu. From classics like bacon and eggs, to Irish staples like corned beef hash, to unique choices like a breakfast grilled cheese, you’ll surely find something to love here.

Turtle’s Bar and Grill is a classic breakfast spot in Shakopee. We recommend the avocado croissant for starters and a breakfast pizza to round it out.

Pablo’s is a family-owned restaurant that has been serving tasty grub to Shakopee for over three decades now. Each meal there is a memorable experience and authentic to the owner’s Hispanic roots.

Lions Tap’s “famous hamburgers” are famous for a reason and you can’t visit Shakopee without making a stop for one. Trust us when we say you’re going to need napkins for this bad boy. You can even buy a shaker of their seasoning to take home with you.
