Hoċokata Ti

From the immersive, 360˚ audio and visual experience that depicts the creation story of the dwellers of the Spirit Lake to the hand-painted wall murals and anecdotal recollections of members of the tribe, Hoċokata Ti’s 3,805-square-foot public exhibit, Mdewakanton: Dwellers of the Spirit Lake, provides visitors with a cultural experience that enhances their knowledge and understanding of the Mdewakanton Dakota people and local history. After the exhibit tour, head over to Hoċokata Ti’s gift shop, which features a variety of Native-made art, books, music, beaded and quilled items, and craft supplies that build upon the cultural center’s mission to educate visitors about the Dakota people.
